Leave the World A Plus

Wherever you go, whatever you do, whoever you interact with...
Try to leave a plus.
Never leave a room, a situation, or a place less than when you entered into it.   Always leave it better.

If you always strive to bring love, kindness, and compassion to any place you go -- a smile, a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, a loving touch, a helpful hand -- when you leave this world you will be content knowing that you have left a PLUS.

To leave anything better than when you started, is the only way to lead a meaningful and fulfilling existence.    It's not what you have, or what you do, or what you own, that matters... it matters that you always leave a plus.

And that will add up to a life well lived.    And a heart well loved.

I love you my babies, more than anything in the world.   You are both my PLUS.

You are so brave

Dear Cooper and Everlie,

I miss you.   I miss scooping you up in my arms and hugging and kissing you and singing you to sleep.  I can only imagine what being away from me feels like as a child.  I know, I would have been lost when I was your age without my mom.  You are being so brave.   And bravery at your age will take you far.  You are learning things you shouldn't have to learn at your age.  And I am so sorry for that.   But it is okay to cry.  To let your emotions out.   You don't have to hold them in.   You can say how you feel.   You can feel how you feel.   I can only say, that I am working hard.  Harder than you know to get healthy and come home.  It is all I want for you and our family.    I hope you both know how deep my love is for you and everything I do, I do for you.  I do it all for you, and for our family.

You are shining lights, my babies, my perfect angels.
You are my shining lights to come home to.
I miss you desperately and I love you.
Your mommy,
xo

To My babies

You will never know how much I miss you.
And how much I long to hold you in my arms.
It's lonely without your smile and hugs to fill me up.
I'm sorry I'm not there with you right now.  I am doing all that I can to get through this, get off these drugs and come home a full, happy, HEALTHY person.

I love you my babies.
Cooper -- you are so very special.  You leave a sparkle in my heart and soul.
Everlie -- you are so very innocent and perfect and I cannot wait to give you my full soul.

You are both the most amazing things that have ever happened to your father and me.   We love you.    I would marry your dad all over again.  And I would go through everything I've gone through and more to bring you into this world.    And if anything that I'm going through right now, has a purpose, it is going to make me a stronger, more compassionate, mother --- who will be able to teach you and give you so much guidance in this world.    After this is behind me, my purpose will be to make sure this costly lesson, serves as a light to others.   But mostly to you, my children.   Showing you, that ANYTHING is possible.   That you can overcome anything.   Even when odds seems stacked against you.  Trust yourself.  Trust your body.  Reach out for and accept help.  And never, not EVER, give up.

Life is going to be wonderful again.
I promise.

Love, mommy. xooxx

Keep Walking

Sometimes, in life, you may not know where your going, or have any idea how to get to where you want to go.  You see the destination, you know what it is that you want, but you can't get to it.  You can't see the map.   And you feel lost.

The best advice I can give you in this situation is to keep walking.    Movement is necessary.    Even if it is the wrong way, it will always lead you to the next step in the process.   Trust that your path, and life, even struggle, is leading you somewhere that you need to go.  And all you need to do is merely keep walking.   Each clue, each new turn will reveal itself to you as it unfolds.

So take those steps.  Even the one's that you aren't confident about, even the one's that seem unsure, and yes, even the one's that seem the hardest or scariest of all.   Each step is leading you closer to where you need to be.    The answers won't always be revealed in order.  The sequence isn't always linear or easy to make sense of.   But trust that life unfolds in time, in exactly the right way, if you just keep walking.

Don't stand still.

Movement is vital.

Pick up your chin and keep walking.

Wriiten by a 90 year old

7% Written by a 90 year old
I can't take credit for this one, but I hope one day I can write my own similar list.  I believe her advice is exactly some of the things I might write.   Take head.  If someone who has lived 90 years is telling you this about life, it's probably true.

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short – enjoy it.
4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.
7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.
8. It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
11. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.
12. It's OK to let your children see you cry.
13. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
14. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it.
15. Everything can change in the blink of an eye, but don't worry, God never blinks.
16.. Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
17. Get rid of anything that isn't useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.
18. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.
19.. It's never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else .
20. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.
21. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.
22. Over prepare, then go with the flow.
23. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.
24. The most important sex organ is the brain.
25. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.
26. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'
27. Always choose life.
28. Forgive
29. What other people think of you is none of your business.
30. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.
31.. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
32. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
33. Believe in miracles.
34. God loves you because of who God is, not because of anything you did or didn't do.
35. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.
36. Growing old beats the alternative of dying young.
37. Your children get only one childhood.
38. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.
39. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.
40. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.
41. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have , not what you need!
42. The best is yet to come...
43. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
44. Yield.
45. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."
Love You mommy,

Never Give Up

Even when ALL odds are stacked against you.   Even when you can not see any light in the path ahead.   Even when you think that all hope is truly lost.  You must never give up.

To never give up doesn't mean that you have to fight hard, but you must keep going.   You must keep walking, reminding yourself that even though you do not know what is coming -- you choose to believe that everything will work out.

When I was little, my favorite poem was a poem about not giving up.  I did not know, at the time, how much it would come to mean to me.  It is a beautiful poem, about never quitting.  Because, truly, you never know how close you are....

DON'T QUIT

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

I love you more than words,
Your mommy xo

The truth of Nature

Nature is beautiful. And it speaks truth.

Spring follows even the longest winters.
Flowers bloom from even the most frozen ground.
Birds fly south and then return home.
Baby animals are born.
The stream flows down, around the rocks, and trickles back into the lakes and oceans.
The sun comes out.
The rain falls.
The wind blows.
The world turns and the sun glows.

The breath renews the body.
Air, sunlight, food, exercise, family, and LOVE.
They heal and nourish and help us grow.

Nature is pure truth, the way it is supposed to work, untouched perfectly balanced.   Time.  Seasons.  Birth. Death.  Rebirth.  Growth.

It is like that with us too.
So when you feel like giving up, when you need some inspiration, when you are trying to find balance and restore your soul -- look no further than the world around you.

Time heals.   Seasons change.  Spring, always comes.

Balance restores itself.

Don't Judge People

One of the things I've learned in life the hard way, is not to judge people.

It's so easy to get caught up in your own world, thinking you know everything about how everyone should be, act, what they should do, say, and how they should handle everything.   It's easy to judge and be opinionated about so many things.  But it's so true that you have no idea what each person is going through in their lives, on the inside, what feelings and struggles and hardships people are facing.  It's easy to judge when your life looks great.  But it's another thing to be compassionate and realize that everyone has their own journey to go through and you never know what they are facing unless you walk in their shoes.   You just don't know why they are doing what they are doing.  Maybe it's the best they can do.  Maybe it's the only thing they can do.  Maybe it's because they don't know better, or they can't do better, or they are dealing with their own struggles or suffering that you know nothing of.   Please be kind and resist the urge the judge.   Think the best of people.  Offer a helping hand.  A smile.  A word of encouragement.   But please don't judge.  You have no idea what they are up against.

Everyone can use a kind word and a smile.   Everyone can use compassion.   Everyone can use encouragement or a helping hard.

Remember this:  Don't judge someone unless you've walked in their shoes.

Be kind.  Walk in love and compassion.  It is always the right thing to do.

Love,
Your mom.

Be Happy

No matter what is going on around you, you can choose to be happy.

It's harder when the things going on are inside of you, or with your own health, or body or mind.  But remember, even still, happiness is a choice.  It's a THOUGHT.   It's an action.  It's a smile.   It's a feeling.

You have to allow yourself to FEEL happy.
There are so many things to be happy about in this world.  Each breath is a gift.  Each sound in nature.  Each friend or person who is part of your life, or even walks past you.   Take PART in happiness by creating it.   Join in with others who are happy.   Tell yourself that you ARE happy.   Smile, dance, breath and allow yourself to feel that deep sense of peace that comes from inside.  That's where happiness lies.  That's where you can find it.

And it's a choice.  It's a feeling. It's a way of BEING.

I love you.

Love in happiness.

Love your life.
Love being alive.
Trust that happiness is yours for the taking.

And then take it.    Don't wait for it to come to you.  Reach out for it.

YOU have the power.

I love you.

Your mom,
xo

A Vibrant Wonderful Happy You

All starts in your mind.

Picture it.  Feel it. Embrace it.   Call it to life, though the mental picture of how you want to look, how you want to feel, how you want to move, how you want to think, how you want to be at your best most vibrant wonderful happy self.  Really see it.

Now FEEL it.   It feels good to be alive.   The world is right.  And you can do anything.   Call this picture to life and let it be the only option for you.   It IS your destiny.  You ARE that person.   Hold onto it tight and feel the radiance and brilliance and joy in life and in your mind, body, emotions, an soul.   Let yourself feel happy.  Let yourself feel healthy.  Let yourself feel alive.  Let yourself feel like the most vibrant passionate you.

And then, let it be so.

You CAN become that person.   That vision of your perfect self, but first you have to believe.  You have to erase the broken versions of yourself that are blocking you.  That do not live up.  That stand in your way to creating the perfect happy healthy life that is waiting for you.   You have more power than you will ever know.   It's all inside you waiting to get out.  This perfect wonderful amazing healthy powerful peaceful and whole happy person.   You can create whatever you want for your life, no matter what obstacles you are up against.

But first you have to let the images that weigh you down go.
Then you have to see yourself as the image of yourself that you want more than anything.
And you can never look back.   THIS is your new image.  Your new reality.
Now, BELIEVE it.

And, it will be so.

You can heal yourself on every level if you first use your mind, emotion, and soul, to convey the right messages to your body.   Think positive.   Only positive.  Do not let the doubts creep in. They can only weigh you down or block you.

The healing comes from the feeling.  And cutting off all other mental images from your mind and heart.  You WILL be whole.  You ARE the perfect vision of you, coming to life more and more and more with each passing day.   Your life is beautiful and you will thrive.

You are happy, vibrant, and healthy!   Say it loud and proud.  And then continue to say it forever.
Guess, what?
You just healed yourself!

I love you.

Life Lessons/Advice/and Secrets for my Children

Today I start a journey to write a book for my children, as a legacy of my life, to give them advice, lessons, and secrets that I want them to have as a guidebook for their lives.

I love you Cooper and Everlie.

Nobody knows what will happen in this world.  But I do know this -- I love you both more than anything and I want you to live the lives of your dreams.  But most important, I want you to be happy, have peace, and love in your hearts.

Love Forever,
Your Mom
